Claims Associate Wins 2017 Outstanding Claims Professional Award

BEVERLY, MA – May 03, 2017 – Electric Insurance Company® is very proud to announce that a member of our award-winning1 Claims team was honored with the individual “Outstanding Claims Professional Award” at the Property and Liability Resource Bureau’s Annual Claims Conference held in Boston March 26 – 29, 2017.

Sandi Purington’s extensive history of treating our customers with exceptional professionalism and genuine kindness gained her the top award from a field of more than 40 nominees – most from much larger, more well-known insurance carriers. 

Sandi’s commitment to our customers is very genuine. She responded to calls from distressed customers from her home, after business hours, an amazing 105 times in the course of a single year.

In one case, she answered a call on a Saturday evening from a customer whose home had just suffered massive fire damage and who needed immediate assistance. As always, Sandi cleared her personal calendar and walked our customer through the claims process, assuring him she would be with him every step of the way.

She immediately arranged temporary housing for him and his family and had the home inspected by a local fire-damage expert. Sandi also sent an advance payment immediately, so our customer did not suffer any unnecessary and financially burdensome out-of-pocket expenses while his life was turned upside down.

She finished up at 2:00 a.m., sacrificing hours of her own time to make sure our customer and his family had safe accommodations and a full understanding of what was to come.  

Within 10 days of the customer’s first call to Electric Insurance, Sandi had a check issued toward the repairs to his home. She then worked with him to create a detailed personal property inventory that was used to determine the settlement amount for his personal property. Sandi also made sure the home repairs were completed and paid for and that the alternative housing, meal, and other extra living expenses were properly funded according to his policy.

This claim was only one of Sandi’s cases, but she did what she always does – provide excellent service no matter the day or time – and made our customer feel as though he was her only concern.

We are very proud of Sandi and are pleased that a national association of claims professionals recognizes her incomparable commitment, professionalism, and character.
