We’ve built our business on providing excellent customer care. You’ll notice this during your first contact with Electric Insurance. Whether you’re quoting online, using our Self-Service Center or speaking directly to one of our friendly representatives, you’ll receive excellent service. In a recent survey of our customers, overall satisfaction with Electric Insurance and our products rated at 97% and 95%, respectively. In addition, our customer service and claims experience rated high at 96% and 97% satisfaction.

Electric Insurance values the relationship we have with each and every customer. We set bold service goals holding our customer service teams to only the highest standards. One of our most important online goals is to respond to customers:

  • Within 24 hours when requests are received during normal business hours* (Monday - Friday, 7AM – 8PM EST).
  • Within 48 hours when requests are received after normal business hours* (Monday - Friday, 8PM – 7AM EST and all day Saturday, Sunday, and holidays).

Quality, training and service standards

Electric Insurance's commitment to providing world-class service is introduced to our customer service representatives on day one as part of their training. Heavy focus is given to technical training and telephone etiquette. This includes greeting callers properly, listening thoroughly, resolving issues in one call, and conveying a caring, professional, can-do attitude. Incoming calls are monitored hourly to ensure peak call volume periods are well serviced. Our technology enables us to monitor call volumes, manage workflow, and meet established performance goals.

Electric Insurance Company is a national writer of personal insurance, specializing in car insurance, home insurance, umbrella coverage and more. We were established in 1966 to serve the needs of General Electric employees. We now also offer our insurance products to the general public. Given our roots, it's not surprising that we look at the insurance business a little bit differently. It wasn't long before relatives and friends of GE employees noticed how happy they were with their home insurance and car insurance and asked if we would provide them with auto insurance too. Today, individuals and families with no formal ties to General Electric hold more than half of our home and car insurance policies. Our goal is to become the preferred home and car insurance carrier for both GE employees and individuals and families from the general public who appreciate the great value and exceptional service we provide.
